Hyperlinks are one of the three things that make the World Wide Web work. The others are HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and the Internet.
Hyperlinks are used to connect one piece of text on the Web to another. While looking at a Web page, you will see Hyperlinks (usually blue and underlined, but not always). By clicking on these Hyperlinks, you tell your browser to load a different Web page. Many pieces of text with Hyperlinks connecting them are collectively called Hypertext.
A WikiWikiWeb is a Hypertext system where you can easily add links using
contracted capitalized words called WikiWords.
